Does anyone out there know of an alternative to the plasti-chrome "rockerbox" covers for a 1300? The stock, snap-in pieces don't look bad, but it would be nice to have something different and a little more retro.

From what I can tell, the 1800s don't look the same way - or there is an altenative piece.

Thanks in advance.

Chris

What are the RockerBoxes? Never heard that term before.

Well, speaking from a Harley perspective, rocker boxes are the top end of a v-twin engine (knucklehead, panhead, shovelhead). The Honda doesn't have a rocker box per se. It just has those plasti-chrome snap on's over the spark plugs. That's the part I'm talking about. The spark plug cover might be a better term.

Ah..Someone makes a set that is supposed to be good for putting LED's behind...but that is for the 1800. Have you thought of buying a spare set somehwere, and cutting vents in them for lighting them up?

No, I haven't considered that. Given the price of plasti-chrome I'd say it's doable. It's really great idea! Anything to make my bike stand out in a crowd.

Right now, I'm on the verge of getting some Rhino guard knock off spray paint to do my mirrors. That might look pretty good, too - just some flat black Rhino guard covers.

Sandycrack - someday you're going to have to explain your sig. Sounds like there's an interesting story behind all that.
