Recently when riding with Chris (Sandycrack) following he noticed my brake light remained on for some time after I release it and this morning I noticed it as well when starting it up to head to work. Haven't looked at the manual yet but I will tonight. it seems that the front brake is the one sticking even thought it releasing the brake I still need to push the brake lever forward to release the light. Any ideas?

Check for dirt around the brake handle pivot bolt, make sure the boot is not jammed up, other than that the only other thing I can think would cause that would be a weak/broken spring in the reservoir. That spring pushes the master piston and brake handle back out as you release the lever. To service that spring you have to remove and disassemble the reservoir. And of course you would have to refill and bleed that brake when you reinstall.

I usually remove the pivot bolts on the clutch and brake levers clean and grease the bushing and bolt and reinstall. Mine was so dry it squeaked when applying the brake or using the clutch levers.greazman(Rich) 8)

Last night I removed the front brake assembly from the handlebars and the brake lever from the brake cylinder not much dirt, but with some air pressure cleaned out the dust applied some white lithium grease and put everything back together still the back brake light still remains on and the level needs to pushed out, so I'm thing it maybe the internal spring. Might be a good time to flush the brake fluid any way.

After removing the brake lever and reinstalling I noticed that the lever was a little snug and removed it again and sanded it down on both sides and applied lithium grease works great now, but I now have another issue my brake/running light is burnt out. Need to find another today, it is a 12V, 21/5 Watt bulb. Is this a 1156 or 1157 or is a different animal all together? Next is the an equivalent LED replacement?

Looks like an 1157 in the manual and they do sell LED 1157 bulbs.greazman(Rich) 8)

Thanks Rich, the manual I have just list it as 12v, 21/5Watt. I may switch to and LED if I can find one.
